New arrival on New Years Day, 01 01 2023, won on Ebay on Boxing Day. My personal Christmas present; )

Looking good here as found! Only problem is one missing segment in the LH Throat Plate pin. I can handle that: )

Sold to original owner on November 11, 1963 for £99 15s 0d. Less trade-in of £16 10s 0d for a 99K. (Bit of an upgrade there then?) In today’s money £100 = £2,679! Definitely a top Singer.

Came in lovely condition with all the essential Attachments. (Cams & Chain-stitch plate: )

The Chain-stitch plate looks unused, the Raising Plates & 4 of the cams also.
Looks good from behind too. Even the plastic Spool Pins are perfect.

So, I’ll enjoy running it shortly & having a closer look. I’m sure it’ll be fine: ) Thanks Neil & thank your mum for looking after it so well.

This is the little problem… It’ll be fine though.

Update here after a long time in occasional use. Sews as it should, but has one little niggling problem. The top tension release has a little rod inside which frees the plates. The arm that presses on the rod on this machine has play in it & sometimes slips off the pin… I’ve bought a spare lever just in case. To fit it I have to remove the needle bar & that’s on the list for action over the holiday. It’ll get a service too, it’s currently in use adjusting curtains in my recent new flat!
